Hell's Highway: Learning how to open a Command Window to launch the game

In order to run the game with custom maps, you need to be able to run the game with arguments on the command line (i.e. you will need to specify the name of the map that you wish to load). In order to do this, you will need to open a Command Window and run the biahh executable (biahh.exe) from the command line.

For Windows Vista:

Open Windows Explorer and browse into the Program Files (x86) folder (or just the Program Files folder if you don't have a Program Files (x86) folder). Scroll down until you see the Ubisoft folder.

Inside the Ubisoft folder, you should see a Gearbox Software folder. Inside it you should see a Brothers in Arms - Hell's Highway folder. Inside that folder, you should see a Binaries folder. Click on the Binaries folder to see the files within that folder.

Now, hold down the Shift key and use the mouse to right click anywhere below the files in the Binaries folder. You should see a menu item that says "Open Command Window Here"...

Click the "Open Command Window Here" menu item to open a Command Window in that folder...

You can then run Hell's Highway with command line arguments by typing biahh followed by any arguments, for example to load a custom map named MyTestMap, you would type the following and then press the Enter key...

 biahh MyTestMap

To close the Command Window, type exit and press Enter (or just click the 'X' button to close the window.

optional: create a shortcut on your desktop

You can create a shortcut on your desktop which will open a command prompt in the Binaries folder of your BIA HH installation. To create this shortcut, do the following;

Right click on your desktop and select New, then click on Shortcut. Windows will ask you for which item you wish to create a shortcut. Fill out the following in the dialog box:

CMD /k cd X:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Gearbox Software\Brothers in Arms - Hell's Highway\Binaries

where X:\ represents the letter of the drive on which you installed your game. Press next. Windows will now ask you which name to give the shortcut. Feel free to name the shortcut as you like. Upon double clicking the shortcut a command window with the specified folder will appear.

For Windows XP:

Download and install the "Open Command Window Here" powertoy from the Microsoft Power Toys? for XP web page...

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx

(you can see the download link on the right side of that page if you scroll down.)
